PurpleCornbread From the starting track "Barcelona 1992" all the way till the end of its closer "Montreal 1976" this album delivers. The great instrumental work, standout drumming and guitar hooks in particular, the group vocals, and catchy paced short songs make this a great record to listen all the way through and then some. Favorite track: Lake Placid, 1932.

tim neave French punky/emo/ art thrills aplenty. There's a distinct beauty to lyrics in (I suppose) a second language, and they make a fine edgy guitar noise. An Englishman with open ears and open mind salutes this great contribution to a shared culture. Their other records are well worth checking out. I must admit I haven't worked out a logic or context for the song titles...I get the Olympics refs, of course. Would love to be proved wrong tho! Favorite track: Lillehammer, 1994.

Track Name: Barcelona, 1992
The rain, the sand, we kept our eyes shut so it never ends,
Cause I’m true, near you, we speak a wordless language we understand.

Hey, I should have known, I feel sorry, I guess we're both alone.
Doubts and fears, I’ve never known how to resolve them,
Lights go out when I’m trying.

The rain, the sand, we kept our eyes shut so it never ends,
Cause I’m true, with you, we speak a wordless language we understand.
Track Name: Helsinki, 1952
We are the dirt, shadows of the shadows
Too many people (hiding the sun) at the window
Sometimes it feels like air is missing

No light comes into the basement
Our eyes got used to the darkness
Sometimes it feels like light is missing

But it feels good cause we’re all right here
And we’re dancing cause no one’s leaving
When the night ends, sun will be rising
I’m still complaining, and André’s laughing

I’m still complaining
André keeps laughing
Track Name: Lake Placid, 1932
I never came back where I grew up
This house has been brought down to the ground
So buy me another drink and we’ll see if we can go up there
I’ve got these bruises of a little kid in a little town, in a little town
I never came back where I grew up
I never came back where I grew up
Track Name: Saint Moritz, 1928
Time just gets away from us, from me.
Bound we crossed the mountains and the seas,
Life was nice and bright to you and me.
Track Name: Melbourne, 1956
So we are now reconnecting
I saw ourselves, back then
I wonder what I’d change
If we could start it all over again

Sometimes I Iook back the way past
I wish we took a different path
We lost control as we were sliding down the hill

Regrets and empty glass
Fill it, forget the past
Some stories fall into oblivion
Some bad habits can’t be erased
We’re overtaking what should have been

Down the hill we slide
Eyes stay open, wide
We enjoy the ride
Track Name: Sydney, 2000
Sometimes, I try to remember
All the stories when I was younger
I just want to make sure
That friends or people that I hated
Friends thinking I have changed
Will remain inside me

The past, the future
Collapse in that very moment : now.
As soon as said, it’s gone.
The memories of the good times,
As well as schemes of even better ones,
Help me live in it.

I’m filled with several shapes and colors
Moving through the waters
Not quite sure what I want
The rainbow on a grey sky
Only appears from rain and sun.

Today, I’m fine, and I mean it,
Since I have always been
Shaken up and down.
The mysteries of our feelings
Remain unsolved, we sail by day and night
But for now, no wave in sight.
Track Name: Paris, 1900
Link to the ground
My tree kept growing
As a solid sight in a moving world

My dearest friend
I liked to cuddle
Until the chainsaw cut you off
Track Name: Paris, 1924
Water kept flowing I know myself better
Don’t want to get lost, wanna feel like home again
These days are meant to wash away my flipside
I’m the cisco kid who never had a chance
I’m the Verno along the rails to Harlow
and I’m trying, I’m trying to get closer to you
Track Name: Lillehammer, 1994
Open boundaries
Pleasant sadnesses
Thin rain in the spring
Light and teaching pains
Faithful fuckbuddies
Sunny darknesses
Attentive strangers
Trustworthy ennemies
Don’t harm

Broken promises
Closed eternities
Forgotten memories
Long lost sieblings
You don’t know where I am
Do I care what you do ?
We owned everything
We lost purity
Track Name: Saint Louis, 1904
Season is changing now
Snowman, when you leave, please take my questions

The sun is burning my skin
I feel the heart getting frozen inside
Drive south, slow down
I’m losing touch with this postcard sunset

Forget the harvest
It’s not your fault
The drought and the locust
Drained our hopes

It’s been a long dead winter
Dear summer I hate you so
It’s been a cold dead winter
Dear summer I hate you so

Sometimes it feels too hard to reach,
To catch a true smile, to be here and now

The field is burning
Can I get lost in my own house ?
Leave the door wide open
When the night comes I’ll be fine

Our hearts don’t follow the seasons‘change
The wind keeps blowing, the leaves keep growing

It’s been a long dead winter
Dear summer I hate you so
It’s been a cold dead winter
Dear summer I hate you so

Dear summer I hate you so
Dear summer I hate you so
Dear summer I hate you so
Dear summer I hate you
Track Name: Sarajevo, 1984
Take the bridge, and mix the cards
If we run fast enough, there is no reason to be caught
Different to who I am, to who I was
The feeling that growing old tastes bad

Dogs running nowhere
Fiends stacked on the stairs

Hard to stand on a soapy crooked floor
Big boy
Understand I'll be falling once more
Balance is what I look for
Today, tonight, tomorrow
Track Name: Montreal, 1976
Years are floating and I’m still running
To find my way home

I lean back and forth to get balanced
No matter what they say
Twice the age of my sweet sixteen

Years are floating and I’m still running
To find my way home
Nothing changes and I’m still waiting
For something to come

I’ll hit the first base, then I’m coming home, go home
I’ll hit the second base, then I’m coming home, go home
I’ll hit the third base, then I’m coming home, GO HOME !
